In San Francisco, Peggy Burke and TRI Commercial/CORFAC International were sponsors in ‘EV Week’ and EV Expo held September 17-18—hosted by Charge Across Town, an educational program in collaboration with San Francisco’s Department of the Environment. Its mission is to encourage more consumers to buy electric cars, building owners to install EV charging stations and for San Francisco to become the EV Capital of  America.

Burke, a TRI senior vice president and office leasing specialist, has been one of the most ardent supporters of the initiative. Reports Burke: “EV Expo was a very successful event commencing with a speech by Mayor Ed Lee and his presentation of the Mayor's proclamation of EV Week to Maureen Blanc, Director of Charge Across Town. Sponsors such as Toyota, Nissan, Honda, BMW, Coda, Zipcar, Fisker Karma, and others were pleased with the turnout and number of test drives at the event-- close to 350. Attendees seemed to be enthusiastic about viewing and learning about various EVs and having the opportunity to take one for a spin down the Embarcadero. I test drove the Honda Fit--really impressed when I switched to "sport" mode and it took off like a race car.
