Western Psychological Pays Nearly $8 Million For Torrance Headquarters, Klabin/Corfac Reports

Sept. 13, 2010; TORRANCE, CA – Western Psychological Services (WPS), publishers of psychological and educational assessments located in multiple West Los Angeles buildings for over 60 years, will consolidate its headquarters into a 65,635 square foot industrial facility it has acquired in Torrance, CA for nearly $8 million, announces The Klabin Company/CORFAC International.  Klabin/CORFAC brokers involved in the transaction report that WPS schedules an April 2011 occupancy of its new headquarters located at 625 Alaska Ave., Torrance, following extensive tenant improvements.  Approximately 65 people will be employed at the new site.  Aleks Trifunovic, Tibor Lody, and Ron Rader in Klabin/CORFAC’sLos Angeles office represented WPS.  “Western Psychological Services’ move down the 405 Freeway to a single free-standing building in Torrance underscores a historical trend of companies moving south for more modern, cost effective facilities convenient to their employees,” Trifunovic said.  He emphasized that a big draw of the Torrance facility for WPS was the inclusion of over 30,000 square feet of office space. “The client needed more office space than is commonly found. That made this building important to them,” Trifunovic said.  Strategically located in central Torrance, the new WPS headquarters is a concrete tilt-up, multi-purpose structure featuring 10 dock high positions, 18-foot minimum warehouse clearance, and 149 on-site parking spaces.  A family business since 1948, WPS’ products allow “Helping Professionals” to accurately screen, diagnose, and treat people in need. WPS “responds quickly to the evolving demands of the assessment community,” according to its web site.  About The Klabin Company/CORFAC International  Now in its fifth decade, The Klabin Company/CORFAC International is ranked among the top 20 commercial real estate companies based in Los Angeles. The firm has offices in Los Angeles and Torrance, and is affiliated with CORFAC International. For more information go to www.klabin.com.CORFAC International is one of the largest commercial real estate services organizations in the world. CORFAC is comprised of privately-held entrepreneurial firms serving more than 150 markets in The Americas and internationally through its KingSturge CORFAC International alliance. Last year, CORFAC firms completed over 9000 commercial real estate transactions, encompassing more than 300 million square feet and valued in excess of $30 billion. For more information on CORFAC visit www.corfac.com.
