Sim F. Doughtie is an experienced 30+ year veteran in the Atlanta commercial real estate market. He has been with King Industrial Realty, Inc. for 20+ years where he has served as President of the firm since 2008. Sim believes that education, learning and networking should be a lifetime endeavor and he has backed up these beliefs with action. He has earned CCIM, SIOR, MCR and SLCR designations, which puts him in an elite group of brokers holding all four designations. During his career, he has earned a solid reputation as an expert in commercial and industrial real estate and is regularly invited by various groups such as Industrial Round Table; CCIM Southeast Regional Conference, Supply Chain Leadership Council and The Appraisal Institute of Atlanta among others, to speak and/or participate on panels either as a moderator or panelist. Sim has worked on may notable assignments over the years. The largest being the Regional Distribution Center for General Mills. This build-to-suit project on 130+ acres consisting of 1,508,765 sf was the largest LEED Certified Gold facility ever built in the U.S. at the time of its completion. Being a creative thinker, Sim recently devised the plan to re-purpose the 90+ acres where twice failed regional mall known as Shannono Mall/Union Station was located. Sim contacted the Mayor Pro Tem of Union City and arranged for the Mall to be re-zoned to TCMU (all commercial uses). He also made the initial contact with Rooker Properties who put the property under contract, closed and now plans to re-develop the property with either e-commerce user and/or a mixed use project. Sim is an Atlanta native, and a graduate of Georgia State University's School of Business, where he majored in real estate and management. While attending GA State, he served as President of his fraternity, Pi Kapa Alpha. Sim and his wife Tricia are members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, The Atlanta Track Club and The Concourse Athletic Club.
